We would love to put forward question on Reduce Child Mortality which is one of the Millennium Development Goals. In our country many children die at the time of birth. Even the mothers also die at the time of giving birth of a baby. These are very common in the rural areas. The Government, United Nations and other national and International organizations have taken many steps to reduce this painful and unwanted incident.

Questions: 1. How is the child mortality rate in your countries?

                    2. What are the reasons behind this unwanted death?

                    3. What are the steps taken to reduce or stop it?

Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

mdg7,  Grup Scolar „Szekely Karoly”, Romania, Question:

There are 8 Millennium Development Goals that all 192 United Nations member states have agreed to achieve by the year 2015. They include eradicating extreme poverty, reducing child mortality rates, fighting disease epidemics such as AIDS, and developing a global partnership for development.

We would like to find out about

We are looking forward reading your answers.

mdg8, Cayuga Secondary School, Canada, Question:

The Pregnant Family

What is your community doing or could be doing better to improve the maternal health and in turn infant health?

  • Is there prenatal  care and training (like Lamaze classes etc.) available to all mothers-to-be in your community?
  • Is there a trained person (midwife or doctor) attending the birth?
  • Do mothers receive postpartum care (physical exams, emotional support and infant monitoring)?
  • Does the government supply the opportunity for mothers to get this care or is it the family who pays?  Do infants or mother receive care if an emergency happens during the birthing process?

mdg9, National College of Computer Sciences “Grigore Moisil”, Romania, Question:

One of the most popular topics nowadays is “how to make the world a better place”. But to do this we need to start with our own countries.

In our country, politicians came up with different ideas on how to do that, but they haven’t settled anything yet. But now that we are close to becoming adult, we started brainstorming on this matter. In the same theme with this year’s topic of GTP we need to check our goals to evolve as human beings. These goals should be improving the technology, the economy and provide better help for people in need.

a) How would you improve the technology in your country?

b) How would you improve the economy in your country?

c) How would you provide better help for the people in need?

mdg10, “WESSELENYI” REFORMED HIGH SCHOOL, Romania, Question

Among the Millenium Development Goals there are 2 that especially interest us:

1. how might extreme poverty be  eradicated? how can new workplaces be created?

2. how do you imagine "global partnership" for sustainable development?

Hi All,
Wondering if we ask questions about all the goals, or ones that we want specific answers to... We have been brainstorming questions for all of the goals... some advise and quidance would help us to narrow our focus a bit...
